Merci! Beauty and the Beast Freebie

I wanted to do a special layout for my youngest daughter's favorite Disney Princess, Princess Belle. I am scrapping my first photobook from my daughters' point of view. So, I thought if I were 3 years old, I probably would visualize the characters as if they just magically stepped out of the movie and just happened to be in Disney World signing autographs. Hmmm, we first were introduced to Belle thru her movie. Movies have posters...Disney always offers movie wallpapers. Eureka! I searched Disney websites: Disney - China, Disney - Japan, Disney - Hong Kong (hint - If your High School Chinese or Japanese lessons are a distant memory then have your Google translator ON). I found a beautiful wallpaper then widened it because I am doing  a double layout but it didn't quite reach to 24 inches. I used Natalie's Magic of Magenta kit to fill in the outsides and to complete the layout. I posted this layout for MouseScrappers Weekly Challenge #76 and received a lot of postivie comments.

Many said they liked the Belle silhouette and the colors. So, I thought I would post the elements and original wallpaper as a freebie HERE . Merci! Enjoy!!

Are you ready to go on a Quest for Adventure?

Jambo! Natalie's Place Designs just realeased a fantastic new kit today. It is perfect for the Animal Kingdom and Bush Gardens layouts as well as scrapping the zoo adventures. What makes Natalie's kits unique is all the amazing textures she incorporates into her kits, truly making a 2D layout standout!

My girls and I were in Disney World last week. It never fails! The day we plan on going to Animal Kingdom, my favorite park to photograph, my camera battery dies  midday. UGH! This trip was no different. So we skipped Animal Kingdom this trip but the girls and I did get to enjoy our grand tour down an exotic river on the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise. I have not been on the Adventureland ride since, I think, Grad-nite (a bazillion years ago!).

Last October my family and I enjoyed a magical day at Animal Kingdom. Yes, my camera battery died and my husband didn't bring his because I was bringing mine. Sigh. While waiting for the parade to start, my husband stayed with our girls while they were napping leaving me a Mommy break. Yippee! I had a chance to really explore the Tree of Life and the surrounding garden. WOW! I had never noticed all the details this park icon has to offer. Hence why I love to photograph Animal Kingdom.

While I am off searching for extra camera batteries to bring on our next Disney trip, check out Natalie's Creative Team's freebies! Cynthia has some fantastic tags and CUTE word art for you. Linda created a beautiful frame and perfect safari word art. Lisa made beautiful clusters with frames. Enlarge them and you will have a beautiful quick page! Natalie is also offering a second alpha add-on. Be sure to pick up the kit and the alpha on her blog!

Thank you all for the warm welcome to Natalie's Creative Team! I am so honored to be in the company of such extraordinary ladies. I have admired and have been inspired by their creativity and talents for several years now.

We are going on a Quest For Adventure!

My favorite designer Natalie will be releasing a kit soon that will make you want to run out and go on a safari, or at least to your local zoo, just so you can play with this kit! Get your binoculars ready because here is a sneak peek.

And, late breaking news, Natalie will be adding a new Creative Team member! That is one lucky lady!!

WELCOME!

It all started with an autograph book. We were coming up on my daughter's first Christmas and my in-laws wanted to be the first to take her to Walt Disney World. You see, for Floridian grandparents it is a right of passage. Since my husband and I were freezing in Boston, we couldn't wait to get back to Florida to defrost our marrow! When we returned from our trip with our flip flop tans and fantastic memories I felt I needed to preserve these memories. I was going thru the pictures and thought it would be fun to add in my daughter's picture with the character next to the autograph. Ho-hum. It needed some pizazz. I added stickers - now we are getting somewhere. I found some pre-cut mickey frames, then some quotes, princess borders, gems and then I done lost my mind! The little 4x6 inch autograph book we purchased in Disney World was about 8 inches thick and could barely close with all the embellishing I did and of course I wouldn't let anyone touch it, especially my little one! Long story short, while planning for our next Disney World visit, I came across DISboards and the Creative DISign forum. (Creative people just keep me on my toes.) There I discovered amazing people with creativity levels unknown to man! Cynthia shared her gorgeous photobooks. Natalie shared her mind-blowing designs. I was hooked! I knew I had to learn how they created what they did so I could make the autograph book I envisioned. Well, now I have learned my way around Photoshop (about as well as Goofy plays baseball) and I am over the autograph book... for now. I have a new Everest to conquer - queue music - my first digitally scrapped photobook! And yes, my little one can touch it.

I have started this blog in hopes of digi-scrap newbies (newer than me) can learn from my errors and, my favorite, sharing lots of freebies. All freebies all the time! Thank you for joining me on my scrapbooking journey...ahh...adventure!
